Inept

Gazing out of my dusty car window
My eyes adjust to the same scene again and again
Movement
Striving
Hardship
It screams a message muffled by the glass
"You are inept"
I try to shake off it's brooding insult
But slowly sip it's poison
I am...
Clumsily approaching problems that are beyond my ability to solve
Like a child manning the ship
-wind can blow even the smallest sail, no doubt, if that sail is hoisted when it blows
Retreat is a two-faced comrade, he exudes a false sense of security and stocks your shelf with excuses
The absurd and the mundane
The grief of potential failure spits an image of lunacy
Purpose takes on the role of sparring mate
Slicing those excuses with accuracy
Slowly my gaze shifts
And the drunkenness of doubt sobers up
Somewhere along the edge of earth and sky is hope
Dawning and setting this day again and again

-April

Strong, powerful words, April. I hope the Voice of Truth is speaking over the ineptness chant--Enemy music, for sure. We are praying for strength and renewed health for your family....

I stumbled across your blog via the Livesays (I don't personally know them either). I continually read Haiti missionary blogs in between my couple short term mission trips to Haiti every year. I don't know you, but I'm praying for you today. I resonate with your post. Here's a David Crowder Band song that has been encouraging to me lately: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szwAJeuOiqg

Thanks, Sue & Kate for your encouragement. Although we have been through the ringer the past couple of weeks we take courage in God's promises. He is here and He is working---despite our circumstances! Be blessed.
Thanks for sharing the song, Kate. Great lyrics.
